The U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills program was created to be the best beginning ice-skating program in the world. It is designed to serve the needs of both recreational and competitive skaters. The curriculum keeps skaters enthusiastic about learning from the time they begin lessons until the time they reach their goals. Whether they want Olympic fame or to simply enjoy the recreational benefits of skating, the Basic Skills Program is the place to start!

2021-2022 season will begin on November 1st, 2021



Welcome Letter

Welcome new and returning WCFSC skaters!!

We will start Learn to Skate and Bridging Monday, November 5th at 5:30pm. During the skate season please be sure to check your e-mail and the facebook page for important club information, possible changes in the schedule due to weather cancellations and later on for ice show information.  If there is no school – skating is cancelled for Learn to Skate and Bridging.

Please make sure your skaters are properly dressed for cold weather.  Take note of the following requirements:

* BIKE HELMETS for beginning skaters 6 and younger

* Hat and gloves  

* Snow pants help for warmth as well as buffer falls for younger skaters

* LONG SOCKS that go above the skates

* Please be sure to have bathroom breaks BEFORE lessons start

*If your child needs help removing their snow pants for a possible bathroom break during lessons, please make sure someone is there to assist them

You are welcome to watch your children from the upstairs or the bleacher on the side, please stay out of the box it gets to congested with skaters and coaches going in and out; however please help us maintain a controlled atmosphere for the safety of the children and the enjoyment of the spectators. As you leave if you would also help us keep the area clean and picked up. Thank you!

As a club we manage the open skating hours for the community.  We ask each parent to work at least one shift . Your immediate family is able to enjoy open skating without charge during your shift! If there is a special event put on by the RRC this does not apply.  We still have to pay the entry fee.  The open skating schedule will be posted on our website:

If you have not made a down payment, it must be paid before your skater steps on the ice.

If you need your skates sharpened, please contact Cheri Neset in Minot, ND at (701) 509-1383. Cheri comes to us highly recommended.
